Go for the Rose Gold

It looks like amid the predictable pastels that will surely be the It Colors of spring, there’s at least one less predictable hue popping up: rose gold. Bobbi Brown just launched the Hopeless Romantic cosmetics collection centered around the universally flattering hue, while online shopping destination Piperlime has a whole section virtually cordoned off featuring shoes dipped and dyed in gilded rose.

In my own beauty collection, I have only just started experimenting with the rose gold eye shadow I own, Kitten Heel by Lancome. While subtle, the color is both blendable and forgiving. Worn alone, it’s great for highlighting the browbone in a nighttime look. Thanks to my skintone, I’m not one who can effectively rock pastel, um, anything without looking washed out so I’m super grateful this more flattering color is right on trend this season.

Cyber Monday is Almost Here

Because shopping IRL is just too dangerous. Enter code HUGECYBER (I know I know) at checkout and save 30% off GAP, Athleta, Banana Republic and Old Navy, or 20% off Piperlime (my personal favorite). Link.

Rachel Bilson Joins Rachel Zoe, Others as Guest Editor of Piperlime

TV starlet (remember “The OC”? She’ll also be in the upcoming “Hart of Dixie” on the CW, premiering Sept. 26) and fashionista Rachel Bilson joins Rachel Zoe and newly-added Olivia Palermo and Byrdie Bell as a guest editor for online shopping haven, Piperlime. In the past couple of years, I’ve really appreciated how Rachel has cultivated a personal style that’s defined and accessible. Translation: I really like looking at pictures of her outfits in magazines and on websites. Also, I totally ripped off her ombre hair color. Click on the link to see her video and selected items for sale on Piperlime. And no, no one paid me to blog this. The video’s entertaining and her clothing picks so just-in-time for fall.
