BET Awards was my time to get a little funkier and edgier. I’d been sitting on this dress - not literally - for a bit and though it’d go kinda balleristic (yep - “baller”istic; you’re welcome) with a Gwen Stefani-esque pompadour (complete with mini-braids on the sides, although you cannot tell from the picture) and my black cage DV by Dolce Vita shoots (shoe-boots; not pictured). While the frock is nude, the material was hardly see-through so I didn’t have to worry about underthings showing. Studded shoulder dress, Elizabeth & James. Jewelry, Forever 21.

Wore this little ditty to the Spike TV Guys’ Choice Awards. I found the romper at a discounted fashion retailer but ignored the fact that it lacked a hook at the top of the zipper (located in the back). So, of course, once I stepped onto the carpet, my zipper consistently kept slipping down and - worse - breaking apart. Thankfully, I had this M60 by Miss Sixty faux leather moto jacket to cover up the gaff. The romper has since been updated with a top hook and is currently at the dry cleaner’s where a little lovely Korean lady is reinforcing the zipper, e.g. tearing it out and adding something that actually ZIPS and doesn’t do the ZIP-‘N-BREAK jig in its place. Because next time, I might not have that jacket so handy. No wardrobe malfunctions please; I’m not famous enough yet. Shoes, Steve Madden. Rings, Forever 21. Necklace, H&M.
