BET Awards was my time to get a little funkier and edgier. I’d been sitting on this dress - not literally - for a bit and though it’d go kinda balleristic (yep - “baller”istic; you’re welcome) with a Gwen Stefani-esque pompadour (complete with mini-braids on the sides, although you cannot tell from the picture) and my black cage DV by Dolce Vita shoots (shoe-boots; not pictured). While the frock is nude, the material was hardly see-through so I didn’t have to worry about underthings showing. Studded shoulder dress, Elizabeth & James. Jewelry, Forever 21. View high resolution

Wore this little ditty to the Spike TV Guys’ Choice Awards. I found the romper at a discounted fashion retailer but ignored the fact that it lacked a hook at the top of the zipper (located in the back). So, of course, once I stepped onto the carpet, my zipper consistently kept slipping down and - worse - breaking apart. Thankfully, I had this M60 by Miss Sixty faux leather moto jacket to cover up the gaff. The romper has since been updated with a top hook and is currently at the dry cleaner’s where a little lovely Korean lady is reinforcing the zipper, e.g. tearing it out and adding something that actually ZIPS and doesn’t do the ZIP-‘N-BREAK jig in its place. Because next time, I might not have that jacket so handy. No wardrobe malfunctions please; I’m not famous enough yet. Shoes, Steve Madden. Rings, Forever 21. Necklace, H&M. Lipstick, Hibiscus by MAC (limited edition).

WWW <3’s for April

I’m a big fan of the website Who What Wear for both the content and the design of the site. Having had to work on my own website recently with the help of a web designer, I can really appreciate a good layout and, shall we say, style. They recently posted their favorite things for April and I, for one, had no idea that Bonne Bell was coming out with a cosmetics line. Rejoice. Oh, and after you read, won’t you check out my main blog as well? Via.
