SAG Awards 2012: The Faves

Viola Davis needed NO help looking gorgeous in this Marchesa number.

Ashlee Simpson channeling ’20s-era cool in Jenny Packham.

Only Angie could rock shiny liquid black with this Jenny Packham gown.

Such a fan of this neo-bride Badgley Mischka look with the shoulder detail as rocked by Kelly Osbourne.

I’m a total fashion gleek for the cut and color of this Atelier Versace number on Lea Michele.

More gleeking out: Jayma Mays shows how to rock sequins in a sexy but elegant, non-New Year’s Eve kind of way. Reem Acra.

Sofia Vergara doing no wrong, again, this time in Marchesa.

Rose Byrne boldly went with red carpet-worthy pantsuit. Coupled with her sharp, sleek ‘do, it was head-to-toemobster’s wife-worthy courtesy of Elie Saab.

AND of course, I have to mention Tilda Swinton who went way understated with this flowing, cinched-waist Lanvin number.

Love these Looks: Golden Globes

Blushtones, mermaid silhouettes, various shades of blue and pewter and the occasional geometric pattern dominated the red carpet at last night’s Golden Globes. Here, a rundown of my favorite looks among the fashion plates out in full force. And of course that includes Tilda.

American Horror Story’s Taissa Farmiga in a blushy mauve Vera Wang gown.

My latest girlcrush, Rooney Mara, looking vaguely Lisbeth Salander-esque in this not-so-basic black Nina Ricci.

Lea Michele dared to bare (a little) in this cutout Marchesa with a train.

Freida Pinto seems to always get it right when it comes to cruising the carpet. The presenter looked elegant in a texturally-interesting Prada number.

I’m a sucker for gilded geometric patterns and studs. Nicole Kidman pulled both off in this halter Versace number that showcased her alabaster complexion and the upside of going carb-free.* (*I actually don’t know if she goes carb-free but you get the idea.)

Showing off a tan glow, Mila Kunis rocked this elegant black one-shoulder (what else?) Dior.

Best Color Combo goes to Heidi Klum who countered the understated chic of this Calvin Klein gown with standout turquoise jewelry.

Angelina Jolie stuns in this Atelier Versace gown with bright red shoulder detail.

Kate Beckinsale shimmered in this floor-length Roberto Cavalli. The updo is a nice old Hollywood touch in the sea of shoulder-grazing non-dos.

One of my favorite looks of the evening had to be Salma Hayek’s with this shining, geometric Gucci gown. Coupled with the sunkissed ombre tresses, she looks like a glowing Aztec goddess.

One of my favorite redhaired funnygals, Emma Stone, in Lanvin. The varying shades of deep purple and plum, the shoulder detail, eagle-cinched waist and sleek updo make this down-to-earth girl an outta-this-world fashion plate in young Hollywood.

Sofia Vergara effectively ruined mermaid silhouettes for EVERYONE ELSE in this floor-length Vera Wang. Or as she said on E!, “Iz Beer-ah Whaaang.” (Adorable!)

Dear Tilda Swinton: Please keep doing whatever you are doing, even when other people think you and David Bowie are the same person. You rule in this Haider Ackermann, continue to be a fashionista’s fashionista and, at the end of the day, only YOU can wear what you wear. Not everyone in Hollywood can say that about themselves.
